About the Jewish Community Advocacy Council

The Jewish Community Advocacy Council (JCAC) is a non-partisan organization that works with congregations, day schools, community centers, and civic institutions on antisemitism response, civic engagement, and community security.

What this site is

This Advocacy Resource Hub is the Council's public reference library. It exists so that the guidance we give privately — how to document an incident, how to prepare a municipal brief, how to begin a security assessment — is available to any community that needs it, whether or not they have ever worked with us.

Our programs, leadership, membership, regional chapters, and giving all live on the main Council site at jcac.org. If you are looking for who we are as an organization rather than what we publish, start there.

How we choose our priorities

Our published priorities follow what community leaders actually bring to us. The three areas covered here — antisemitism response, civic engagement, and community security — account for the large majority of requests we receive, and each one is reviewed and revised as practice changes.

Editorial approach

Guides here are written to be used rather than admired: concrete steps, plain language, and no claims we cannot support. Where a recommendation depends on local law or department practice, we say so rather than generalizing.
